Apple Pie Roll-Ups

These delicious, easy-to-make roll-ups combine the classic flavors of apple pie and French toast in a kid-friendly format. Perfect for little hands and big appetites, apple pie roll-ups are great as a snack or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1 tsp lemon zest, finely grated

  • 12 slices sandwich bread

  • 3 Tbsp butter, melted

Directions

  1. Wash apples and pat dry.

  2. Preheat oven to 375° F and line a tray with baking paper.

  3. Peel and core apples, and then dice into small pieces.

  4. Mix sugar and cinnamon, and then toss the apples with 1 tablespoon of the cinnamon sugar mixture and lemon zest.

  5. Cut the crusts off the bread then using a rolling pin, roll out the bread to flatten out evenly.

  6. Divide the apple between the bread slices and roll up to enclose the filling.

  7. Arrange the roll-ups on the lined baking tray and brush with the melted butter and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar.

  8. Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and crispy.

  9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before eating as the filling will be very hot.
