Apple Pie Roll-Ups
These delicious, easy-to-make roll-ups combine the classic flavors of apple pie and French toast in a kid-friendly format. Perfect for little hands and big appetites, apple pie roll-ups are great as a snack or dessert.
Ingredients
2 apples
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp lemon zest, finely grated
12 slices sandwich bread
3 Tbsp butter, melted
Directions
Wash apples and pat dry.
Preheat oven to 375° F and line a tray with baking paper.
Peel and core apples, and then dice into small pieces.
Mix sugar and cinnamon, and then toss the apples with 1 tablespoon of the cinnamon sugar mixture and lemon zest.
Cut the crusts off the bread then using a rolling pin, roll out the bread to flatten out evenly.
Divide the apple between the bread slices and roll up to enclose the filling.
Arrange the roll-ups on the lined baking tray and brush with the melted butter and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar.
Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and crispy.
Allow to cool for a few minutes before eating as the filling will be very hot.
